Sept. 30, 2021 – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, American Trucking Associations, and the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) hosted a press call to discuss the bipartisan infrastructure bill being held up in Congress, why it deserves a stand-alone vote and how it will benefit workers, businesses, and communities across the country. Michael Johnson, NSSGA president and CEO was a panelist and represented the industry well, making a fiery case for the bill and lamenting the partisan politics currently infecting Washington, D.C. Also on the panel were Neil Bradley, executive vice president and chief policy officer, U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and Chris Spear, president and CEO, American Trucking Associations, both of whom also angrily denounced Congress’ failure to move this bill immediately. Johnson lamented the toxic atmosphere in our nation’s politics, insisting, “If you are interested in moving the country forward you should vote for this bill.” He predicted this bill will ultimately be passed.
